3Great for experienced collectors, not for casual "Jack" fans.  Jun 16, 2007
This figure has some seriously cool things going for it, and some embarassingly bad things going against it. For starters, the Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp likeness is UNCANNY. I did a double-take when I saw this on the shelf, it is creepy good. The acoutrements hanging off his belt keep getting better, an opening compass, assorted voodoo items and all the fabric goings-on are very faithfully done. The figure isn't as articulated as its 7-inch counterpart, the arms only move at the shoulders with limited range. The costume is painted well, but watch for white blotches on the sleeves. The dialogue spoken by this figure adds up to 3 sentences completely absent from either film, but very in-character and surprisingly well impersonated. This well hidden push-button feature is run on INCLUDED batteries so don't worry! The major reason for the title and score of my review, however, is that you may have considerable trouble just getting this figure to stand up. I had to construct a ceramic base around one foot. The proper alignment of his boots can leave him upright for about a day until he topples under the dynamic, appropriately swaggering and imbalanced pose.
